I'm Jai, the person behind Solace Aura. I make every bed myself from Melbourne, Australia. From sourcing the wool, to felting and crocheting it, to shipping it out.
Solace Aura started in 2024, at my mum's place in regional Victoria, with four cats, one dog, and a lot going on. My husband Gui and I moved to be with her through a hard time. Living remotely, I had more spare time than usual, so I picked up crochet and started making cat beds.
The more I researched materials, the more merino wool made sense. Once felted properly, it holds its shape without any stuffing or synthetic fill inside. Just wool. No plastics, no synthetics. Good for your cat and better for the earth compared to most of the alternatives out there.
Each bed takes a few hours to make. The felting process (what gives it its structure and shape) took real trial and error to get right, but luckily we had plenty of product testers around the house to put the early versions to work. Every bed I make gets the same care and attention before it goes out.
These beds are designed for your home as much as for your cat. With a background in architecture, how things sit in a space matters to me.

Zuko
Zuko is a quick learner. He knows how to sit and how to open doors. Sliding or handle, doesn't matter.
Max
Max likes food. A lot. Don't leave anything out.
Lani
You may or may not have noticed but our girl Lani only has three legs, but she's our go-to model and we genuinely can't keep her out of the beds. Most of the photos on the site are her.
Mia
Mia is slightly sassy, slightly bossy, but she'll enjoy a cuddle on her own terms.
